Disability Sports Northern Territory & Sport4All, Unite to Boost Inclusive Sport Across the NT

Disability Sports Northern Territory (DSNT) is proud to announce a new partnership with Sport4All, supported by the Northern Territory Government, aimed at advancing inclusive sport and active recreation opportunities across the region.

As part of this collaboration, John Clarke has been appointed as the local Sport4All Inclusion Coach for the Northern Territory (NT), bringing hands-on support and expertise to clubs, schools, and councils throughout the Territory.

“In my new role as a Sport Inclusion Coach, I aim to create spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and empowered through sport—because true inclusion isn’t just about participation, it’s about belonging I know how important it is for local clubs and associations to have the knowledge and confidence to include people with disability in their programs.”

Working side-by-side with DSNT, John will help equip community organisations with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to meaningfully include people with disability in every aspect of sport, from participation and coaching to leadership and volunteering.

DSNT is a leading advocate for disability-inclusive sport in the NT, building capability through its Accessibility Champion program and connecting Territorians with disability to adaptive sporting opportunities through Abilities Unleashed.

In collaboration with Peak Sporting Bodies and Community Sport Officers, DSNT plays a vital role in playing sports across the NT more accessible, welcoming, and sustainable.

“We know how important it is for local clubs and associations to have the knowledge and confidence to include people with disability in their programs.
This partnership with Sport4All is a vital step forward, especially for the Northern Territory. With the support of the NT Government, clubs now have a local resource in John Clarke—someone on the ground who can provide practical support and help support inclusion to be part of everyday sport.”

Ayden Shaw, CEO, Disability Sports Australia

The appointment of a dedicated Inclusion Coach in the NT reflects a shared commitment between Sport4All and DSNT to create local sporting environments where everyone feels welcome and supported, regardless of ability.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be partnering with DSNT to help promote inclusion and participation for people with disability across the Territory,” said Jenny Crandell, Sport4All Manager NT. “This partnership means more practical support for clubs, more confidence for coaches, and ultimately more opportunities for Territorians with disability to get involved in community sport.”

Sport4All is a national program developed by Get Skilled Access, founded by Paralympian and disability advocate Dylan Alcott AO. Backed by the Australian Government, Sport4All supports sporting clubs and schools across the country to become more inclusive of people with disability. Through free online training, local Inclusion Coaches, and tailored resources, we help create sporting environments where everyone feels they belong.

This collaboration has been made possible thanks to the continued support of the Northern Territory Government.
