Disability Sports Northern Territory announces appointment of NT Sports Coordinator

Disability Sports Australia is pleased to announce that, after a rigorous selection process, we have appointed our new Sport Coordinator for Disability Sports Northern Territory!

Born and bred in the Northern Territory, Nick Lenoir has a strong background as an elite athlete (hockey) and working at a state and national level in athlete and coach pathways, high performance and competition management. Most recently he was the Pathway Manager for Hockey NT, and runs his own consultancy in high performance coaching. Nick commences Monday 4 November 2019.

In the coming months Nick will be meeting with disability, health and sporting stakeholders in NT to understand what is already being provided and what the gaps are and this will feed into a more formal stakeholder consultation process to develop a clear strategy to drive our activities in the NT.

“Our goal is to enable more people with a disability to be more active more often, by partnering with sport and disability organisations to grow the range of sports available for people with a disability, and to help those people find and connect with sport that suits them” said DSA CEO Jenni Cole”. “we look forward to Nick starting in this new NT based role, and engaging with all groups in the Northern Territory to develop local programs and provide new opportunities for people with a disability of all ages to get active and into sport”.

Congratulations Nick and we are excited to have you on board!
